CLEANSING YOUR FACE: OUR TIPS FOR DEEPLY CLEANSED, PURIFIED SKIN

Published October 5, 2023

Cleansing your face is essential for beautiful skin and a glowing complexion. This seemingly simple daily ritual calls for precision timing and special skincare treatments to be truly effective.

So, what's the right way to cleanse and wash your face? Should you do the same things and apply the same products every morning and evening? Actually, do you really need to cleanse your skin twice a day? This article has the answers you're looking for.

WHY SHOULD YOU CLEANSE YOUR FACE?

Like every other part of the body, the skin on the face eliminates some of the waste it secretes via pores on its surface. But this process can often be impaired:

- Over the course of the day, a variety of contaminants such as pollutants, dust, sweat, sebum, dead cells, and leftover makeup can accumulate on the skin and clog the pores. As a result, the skin is unable to breathe, which leads to a loss of elasticity and radiance. This, in turn, can lead to the development of imperfections like blackheads and pimples.

Overnight, cell regeneration processes are stepped up, helping to eliminate dead skin cells that then migrate to the surface of the epidermis

So, even if you don't wear makeup, it's essential to cleanse your face every day to remove any debris! It’s also the first step in preparing the skin to receive treatments and facilitate their absorption.

THE BEST TIME TO CLEANSE YOUR FACE

Morning and evening, or only in the evening? There are a few possibilities depending on your needs, your skin typeand how your skin reacts to the treatments you use.

CLEANSING YOUR SKIN IN THE EVENING IS ESSENTIAL

The use of a facial cleanser in the evening is essential. The skin needs to be cleansed of makeup (if you use it) and any contaminants that have built up throughout the day (pollution particles, sweat, sebum, etc.).

The benefit of only washing your face in the evening is that it’s not as harsh on your skin and your microbiota (the protective bacteria found on the surface of the skin) will be better preserved.

CLEANSING YOUR SKIN IN THE MORNING IS OPTIONAL

Depending on your skin type and your skin's tolerance, you can also cleanse in the morning to remove any excess sebum, sweat, and dead cells that have built up overnight. This morning cleanse will be considerably gentler, as you did a deep cleansing the night before.

THE RIGHT WAY TO CLEANSE FOR A GLOWING COMPLEXION

Properly cleansing your face means following a beauty routine and using the right techniques.

TIP NO. 1: START BY THOROUGHLY REMOVING YOUR MAKE-UP

To cleanse your skin correctly, always start by removing your make-up. Be sure to remove all traces of cosmetics from your face (foundation, mascara, lipstick, etc.). Make-up removal is essential, because the products that you apply in the morning can clog your pores, making your complexion appear dull, and damaging your skin in the long run.

In short, this step should not be overlooked.  A gentle solution to clean your skin, our FOAM CLEANSER is an everyday skincare savior. In addition to removing make-up, it also gently cleanses the skin, hydrates it, and prepares it to absorb your skincare routine favorites.

TIP NO. 2: CLEANSE YOUR FACE EVENING AND, IF NEEDED, IN THE MORNING

It is essential to cleanse well in the evening before going to sleep. Your skin needs to be freed of all the residue built up during the day from make-up or smog. In the morning, your skin may need to be cleansed of the residue of your night cream or traces of perspiration.

Gently massage (don't scrub) onto moistened skin, and then rinse with warm water. Avoid using water that's too hot (you shouldn't wash your face in the shower), as this can damage and dry out your skin.

PRO TIP: As a complement to your cleanser, you can use a moisturizing essence, like NCEF-ESSENCE, which provides your skin with long-lasting hydration in 30 minutes, while preparing it to better absorb your serum and moisturizer, for a radiant complexion.

TIP NO. 3: REMOVE ANY LAST TRACES OF MAKE-UP WITH MICELLAR WATER

We recommend a micellar solution to remove any traces of make-up and ensure that your skin is cleansed correctly. After using the FOAM CLEANSER, apply several drops of micellar water to your face with a cotton pad. MICELLAR SOLUTION completely dissolves make-up and cleanses your skin while respecting its physiological balance. Be sure to wipe your face well after applying it to prevent any sensations of tightness.

TIP NO. 4: PURIFY YOUR SKIN WITH SPECIFIC SKINCARE PRODUCTS

If you have oily skin that is prone to imperfections and your cleansing skincare routine doesn’t seem to be enough to purify it, you can use a specific cleanser, such as AGE-PURIFY CLEAN cleansing gel, which contains hydroxy acids that help to regulate excess sebum and gently smooth out the skin

PRO TIP: You can use this cleanser to complement your makeup remover.

TIP NO. 5: DETOXIFY OR EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN ON A REGULAR BASIS

The skin on your face accumulates toxins and dead cells that must be eliminated regularly. To maintain perfectly radiant skin, use an exfoliating mask or peel. This kind of product rids skin of impurities and reveals a smoother, brighter texture.
